Well, for a few minutes it looked like the Jane’s Addiction reunion was actually going to work. The planets had properly aligned and it seemed as though both Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro and Liam and Noel Gallagher were going to be able refrain from torpedoing their respecting reunion tours. Now, sadly, it seems as though it’s just the Gallaghers who have learned how to behave.
The Jane’s Addiction reunion tour was the first time the original lineup of the classic 1980s L.A. alt band had gotten on stage together since 2010. The first few shows seemed great – highly rated in European media. There was new music! After the announcement of a U.S. tour with fellow decade travellers Love And Rockets, though, things seemed to have headed south. While the tour has been going since August, September dates have been allegedly rocky. The Guardian reported apparent on-stage tension at a recent show in New York City, and now with this incident on stage in Boston it looks like the reunion is fated to founder.
